The goal of the project is to create conditions for the successful socialization of war veterans and their family members, their return to active social life, and strengthening the psychological health of family members who have experienced stressful situations related to the military service of their loved ones, including death or captivity.
Implementation period
May - November 2024.
Activities within the project
1) Creation of a veteran space (determining the format of work, carrying out measures to prepare the premises for the space; furnishing the space with the necessary equipment and furniture and dividing it into zones (conference/training room, children's room, recreation area).
2) Assessment of needs for psychosocial assistance services, which will become the basis for planning activities and adequate allocation (adaptation to existing needs) of resources. Mapping of existing psychosocial and legal assistance services significantly increases their accessibility.
3) Organization of training for specialists (psychologists, social workers). Organization of educational work in the community among all "front-line" specialists - those who primarily contact veterans (administrators, doctors, social workers, and others).
4) Creation of a local interdepartmental working group, which will include representatives of various institutions and structural divisions, as well as representatives of veterans and NGOs. Development of a draft veteran program at the community level with the best possible coordination of efforts and allocation of resources.
5) Provision of psychological and legal assistance to families of veterans, psychological stabilization/rehabilitation, social reintegration, measures aimed at finding one's place in society, education, training, provision of services.
The project "VOZVET CENTER - a veteran space in the Voznesensk community" is implemented by the Voznesensk Community Foundation with the support of the European Union and the International Renaissance Foundation within the framework of the joint initiative "European Renaissance of Ukraine".
